De OGX

OGX basics

OGX – Old Galaxy Xperience is a browser-based space strategy game inspired by classic OGame, with modern quality-of-life features, a fair VIP system and an independent, non–pay-to-win philosophy.

This page gives a quick overview of how OGX is structured: portal, universes, main game screens and where to find key information.

1. Portal, master account and universes

OGX is built around a central portal and multiple game servers (universes).

  • You create a single master account on the portal (https://playogx.com).
  • From this master account, you can join one or several universes (servers).
  • Each universe has its own:
    • players and alliances,
    • economy and rankings,
    • wars, politics and stories.

2. Main game views

Once you are in a universe, you primarily play from the following views:

  • Overview
General information about your current planet: buildings in progress, events, incoming fleets.
Mines, power plants and storages. This is the core of your economy.
  • Facilities / Shipyard
Advanced buildings (Robotics, Nanites, etc.) and ship construction.
Research screen to unlock new ships, drives, combat upgrades, Astrophysics, Plasma, and more.
  • Fleet
Sending missions: transport, attack, deployment, Expeditions, Colonization, etc.
  • Galaxy
Browse systems, spy targets, spot new planets to colonise.
  • Alliance
Join or create an alliance, chat, coordinate attacks and defenses.
  • Messages / Reports
Espionage reports, combat reports, expedition results, system notifications.

For a step-by-step progression guide, see Getting started.

3. Core gameplay loop

The basic gameplay loop of OGX is:

  1. Build and upgrade your economy (mines, energy).
  2. Research key technologies to unlock ships and features.
  3. Build ships and basic defenses to protect your resources.
  4. Use raids, expeditions and colonization to grow faster.
  5. Expand to multiple planets and specialise them (production, fleet, research, etc.).

Everything is long-term and persistent: your choices shape your empire over weeks and months, not minutes.

4. VIP Commander and fairness

OGX includes a VIP system called Commander Account:

However:

  • There is no direct “buy fleet / buy resources” option.
  • The goal is to keep OGX as fair and non–pay-to-win as possible.
  • Commander speeds things up and makes management easier, but skill, activity and strategy remain the main factors.

Full details are on Commander Account – Service terms of use.

5. Rules and fair play

Before going too far, make sure to read the Game rules page.

Key points:

  • No abusive multi-accounting on the same universe.
  • No pushing (free resource feeding from weaker players to stronger ones).
  • No bots, scripts or automation.
  • No harassment, insults, racism, hate speech, etc.

Violations can lead to warnings, rollbacks, or permanent bans.

OGX is an independent project, hosted in Europe and subject to EU and French law.
